DRUG TRAFFICKING
On the 13th of July 2017 at about 2:05pm, while conducting patrols in San Jose Succotz Village, police stopped and searched 36-year-old Hilario ROMERO where they found on him a black plastic bag containing 671 grams of cannabis. He was arrested and charged for drug trafficking.

DROWNING
On the 13th of July 2017 at about 6:30pm, Belmopan Police visited the Western Regional Hospital where they saw the body of Teresa COY, 17-month-old of a Maya Mopan address, Belmopan. Investigation revealed that on the 13th of July 2017 at about 5:00pm, Teresa COY, along with other family members, were at their house playing when baby Teresa reportedly left their sight. A search was conducted and approximately ten minutes later her body was found inside a toilet hole. She was taken to the Western Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
HOUSE FIRE
On the 13th of July 2017 at about 11:50am, information was received of a house fire in the Las Flores area, Belmopan, where a green cement bungalow house with zinc roofing was seen engulfed in flames. The fire personnel were already on scene. Terry COLEMAN, 37-year-old House Wife of #13 Maravilla Street, Las Flores, reported that she had put in a load of clothes in the washing machine and a load in the gas dryer and went into the kitchen to prepare food. A short while after she heard a strange sound coming from the wash room (situated at the northern portion of the house) and upon checking, she noticed that the entire room was in flames. The house is the property of 36-year-old Boris Alexander Dominguez and it was completely gutted by the fire. Belmopan Police investigates.

KEPT FIREARM/ AMMUNITION WITHOUT LICENSE AND LEND FIREARM/ AMMUNITION WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE
On the 12th of July 2017 at about 8:45pm, Belmopan Quick Response Team (QRT) were conducting mobile patrol on the George Price Highway, Cotton Tree Village, when they stopped and spoke with 50-year-old David ESTRADA, who informed them that he was waiting for a friend that was in the bushes with his licensed firearm. Police then observed Manuel De Jesus GONZALEZ, 55-year-old Guatemalan Farmer of Cotton Tree Village, coming out of the bushes with a 16 gauge shot gun along with four cartridges. He was asked for his gun license, but he stated that he had none. David ESTRADAhad a valid firearm license for the weapon. As a result, David Estrada was arrested for the offence of “Loan Firearm and Ammunition without permission from the Commissioner of Police" and Manuel GONZALEZ for the offence of “Kept Firearm without a Gun License and Kept Ammunition without a Gun License.”
