ROBBERY
Vilma Ritilia CHEP, 42-year-old Guatemalan Businesswoman and Resident of Holy Emmanuel Street, Belize City, reported on the 18th of June 2017 at about 3:45am, that she was almost reaching her home when she felt a hold around her neck from someone who then demanded her to hand over her belongings. The assailant searched her and took away her purse containing personal documents, $150.00 in cash, and an assortment of gold and silver jewelry. Police are investigating.
FOUND PROPERTY
On the 18th of June 2017 at 1:30pm, police searched an open lot on East Collet Canal which led to the discovery a black plastic bag containing 112.2 grams of cannabis, a black extended magazine, a black 9mm Colt Brand pistol which was fitted with a black magazine. At the time of the discovery no one was in the area and the items were deposited as Found Property
SHOOTING INCIDENT
On the 19th of June 2017 at 9:28pm, acting on information received about shots being fired on San Victor Street, Orange Walk Police visited #21 San Victor Street, Orange Walk Town, where they spoke to a witness who reported that, at about 9:25pm, while on the veranda of Lyndon HERRERA's resident situated on #21 San Victor Street, in company of two male persons, a male person ran in front of the yard and fired three shots towards the direction of the house and fled the scene. No one was injured. Police have since detained six persons for questioning and investigation continues.

VEHICLE FIRE
On the 19th of June 2017 at 2:27am, acting upon information received of a vehicle on fire at the compound of Scotches Restaurant and bar located on the Hummingbird Highway, police visited the location and upon arrival, observed a 2002 white Mitsubishi Montero SUV engulfed in flames. The fire personnel arrived shortly and extinguished the flames. Investigation revealed that the owner of the vehicle, Marisol CARASCO, 50-year-old Manager of Scotches restaurant and bar, reported that she parked her Montero SUV in the compound at 1:00pm on the 18th of June 2017 and did not use it thereafter. She reported that on the 19th of June 2017, sometime after 2:00am, she was awaken by a loud bang from outside her house. She stated that she immediately called the security officer that was on duty in the compound, Mr. Santos FLORES, who made checks and informed her that it was a vehicle that was on fire. Police are investigating.

DRUG TRAFFICKING
On the 13th of June 2017 at about 8:45am, Placencia Police were called to Norwegian Escape Cruise Ship that was docked at Harvest Caye. Security Officers reported that they found suspected drugs in a cabin on the ship occupied by Derson FRANK, 30 year old of St. Vincent. Mr. FRANK was escorted to his cabin where a search conducted by Police revealed the controlled drugs. During the investigation, it was revealed that two other men were involved, Renaldo Kerron ROBERTS, of St. Vincent and Jamal Nathus CELISE, of St. Lucia. Each package was weighed amounting to 1.065kg. All three men were charged jointly with (2) Counts of Drug Trafficking and are presently remanded to KOLBE Prison.
PUNTA GORDA TOWN
DROWNING
Acting upon information received of a drowning in Santa Elena Village Toledo District, on the 19th of June 2017 at about 1:20pm, police visited Santa Elena Village, upon arrival at about half mile off the right hand side of the main road in the village by the riverside, they observed the body of 85-year-old Ancuncion CHOC, Farmer of Santa Elena Village, Toledo District. Investigation revealed that around 12:00pm on the 19th of June 2017, Mr. CHOC went to take a bath at the river which is located about 200 yards from his home and when he did not return. At about 1:15pm, his granddaughter went to look for him, but only found his clothes and soap near the river bank. A search was conducted in the area and 250 yards from where his clothing was discovered, CHOC’s body was discovered. His body was retrieved from the river and transported to the Punta Gorda Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:49pm.
