COROZAL DISTRICT

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On the 9th of June 2017 at 5:20pm, acting on information received of a shooting incident at Chunox Village, police visited the village around 6:30pm where the body of Richard Allen GARCIA, Laborer of Chunox Village, was seen lying on the ground with a machete in his hand. Investigation revealed that, on the 9th of June 2017 at about 4:50pm, police visited a residence in Chunox village to check into a report where Richard Allen GARCIA reportedly exited the house armed with a machete and attacked one of the police officers. Several warning shots were fired to discourage him, but to no avail. Police then fired at him where he was fatally injured. The body of Richard Allen GARCIA was taken to the Corozal Community Hospital where it was pronounced dead on arrival. The body had two gunshot injuries to the chin and to the right collar bone. Police are investigating.
        
ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

STABBING INCIDENT

On the 10th of June 2017 at 12:15pm, police received information of a stabbing incident at the Reyes Tortillas place, situated on Progress Street, Orange Walk Town. Police visited the area where they saw blood stains on the ground and a kitchen knife with blood stains and its blade measuring 8 inches in length. Investigation revealed that Pablo Zenon REYES, 84-year-old Businessman of Progress Street, was standing outside his business place when mental patient, Nigel GUERRA, 33-year-old of Louisiana area, reportedly approached him and inflected the stab wounds to his left forearm and the abdomen area. He then made good his escape. Mr. REYES was admitted to ward in a critical, but stable condition at the Northern Regional Hospital. Police are investigating.             

BELIZE DISTRICT

ROBBERY

On the 10th of June 2017 at 5:20pm, police responded to reports of a robbery at Twins Supermarket on Saint Thomas Street, Belize City, where Quan Pan CHAN, 42-year-old Businessman, reported that sometime around 4:10pm on the 10th June 2017 he was on the second floor of the building adjacent to his residence when he was approached by a male person who pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him. The perpetrator reportedly instructed him to get on the floor and then stole his IPhone 6 and $1,000.00 cash. Police are investigating.
 
SAN PEDRO AMBERGRIS CAYE

FOUND PROPERTY

On the 10th of June 2017 at 11:30am, San Pedro Police found a grey T-shirt containing a .38 revolver six shooter brand with black electrical tape around the handle and (3) .380 live rounds in the chamber - in an open lot on Mangrove Drive in Boca del Rio area, San Pedro Town. No one was in the area at the time of the discovery. The firearm and ammunition were labelled and deposited as Found Property.

STANN CREEK DISTRICT

ARSON

Errol ACOSTA, 26-year-old Businessman of Deloro site area, Pomona Village, Stann Creek reported that on the 10th of June 2017 about 2:00am he was at home along with his common-law wife, Marcelina PEREZ and his two children when he heard footsteps on his verandah. Shortly thereafter, he noticed the house was on fire. The house is an elevated wooden structure measuring 17 by 23 feet with zinc roofing. It was completely destroyed along with household items. Police are investigating
 
 
PLACENCIA VILLAGE

THEFT

On the 10th of June 2017 at 9:18am, George ROWLAND, 30-year-old of Seine Bight Village, Stann Creek, visited the Placencia Police Station and reported that between the 9th of June 2017 at 10:00pm and the 10th of June 2017 at 6:00am, someone stole his black 2014 CGL125 Honda motorcycle bearing license plate SCM-1200 which was parked in front of his house in the Seine Bight Village. Police are investigating.
