COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY

On the 20th of May 2017 at 6:20pm, Maria Magdalena LEIVA, 54-year-old Babysitter of Sarstoon Street, Orange Walk Town, reported that on the 20th of May 2017 at around 4:30pm, she sent her husband to purchase at the nearby store with a $20.00, bill upon his return with her change, she placed it in her hand bag. About 6:00pm, she went to another store to purchase some items and took out a $10.00 which was part of her change given to her by her husband. However, at the store, the cashier informed her that the currency was not genuine. The police were notified and the counterfeit currency bearing Sr. No. DN240634 was taken in as evidence. 
 
PLACENCIA FORMATION

FATAL ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On the 19th of May 2017 at 10:40pm, Placencia Police received information of a Fatal Road Traffic Accident between miles 20 and 21 on the Placencia Road where they observed a grey four-door Toyota 4 Runner on the side of the road and underneath was a red and black Honda Shadow motorcycle. Near the motorcycle was Shams Penthod MOOSE, 45-year-old Indian National of Maya Beach, with head and body injuries, apparently dead. Investigation revealed that the driver of the Toyota 4 Runner, Shawn VASQUEZ, 24-year-old of Seine Bight Village, was heading to Placencia when the motorcycle, driven at the time by MOOSE, reportedly came from the opposite direction, swerved into his lane and collided into the Toyota 4 Runner. MOOSE reportedly died on the spot. The body was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival at 1:30am on the 20th of May 2017. Urine sample was obtained from VASQUEZ and a Notice of Intended Prosecution was served. Police are investigating.
