BELIZE CITY

ROBBERY

On Saturday, 25th October 2014, at 3:15pm, a 64 year old Belize City woman reported that whilst walking on Albert Street West, accompanied by her daughter and upon reaching in front of Anglican Cathedral College, two dark complexion male persons approached them. One of the male persons had a struggle with her and the other held a knife on her daughter and took away her hand bag containing an I Phone 5 and other personal documents. Police are investigating.


ROBBERY

Stowel SANDOVAL, 27 year old Security Guard reported to police that, at about 12:00 midnight, on 26th October 2014, whilst pushing his Red/Black motor cycle on West Street, three (3) male persons approached him and took the motor cycle. Police have since detained one person and have recovered the motor cycle. Police investigation continues.


SHOOTING INCIDENT
 
A 39 year old woman reported to police that, at 10:10pm on 26th October 2014, she was inside her house on Banak Street, she noticed a male person standing outside her house and shortly after she heard what sounded like gun shots.  She realized her house was shot at and damages were caused to a glass louver. Four (4) expended shells were retrieved from the scene. No one was injured. Quick police response in the area led to the detention of Roger ANTHONY, 37 year old. One .9mm pistol was seized from him. ANTHONY is in police custody, pending charges.

ROBBERY   

On 26th October 2014, a Belize City man reported that, at about 10:30pm on 25th October 2014, he was on Princess Margaret drive when a female requested his taxi service. When he stopped, two male persons also jumped in the taxi along with the female. The male persons ordered him to proceed towards West Landivar area. While driving, he felt something to his neck and noticed that it was something that resembled a firearm. The taxi driver was immediately relieved of cash amounting to $475; a cellular phone; and his vehicle which is a red 2000 Mitsubishi Montero 4 doors SUV with license plate #D7744. Police are investigating.

INCEST

On 24th October 2014 at 2:38pm, a minor accompanied by her mother visited the Belmopan Police Station where she reported that from the year 2011 up to the 16th October 2014, she has been constantly abused sexually by her older brother who has being living with them. Police investigations continue.

INDEPENDENCE VILLAGE

POSTMORTEM EXAMINATION

On 24th October 2014, a postmortem examination was conducted on the body of Kurt BUSH, 42 year old of Independence Village, Stann Creek District. The cause of death was certified as acute lung failure due to acute pulmonary oedema due to chronic lung failure.

PUNTA GORDA TOWN

FIRE

On 24th October 2014, Police responded to a fire in progress at Lovers Water Supply Area, Punta Gorda Town. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a cement house with zinc roofing engulfed in flames. The initial investigation indicated that it was an abandoned house and was under the care of one Allison CASTILLO, of Belize City. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fire Department.
