BELIZE CITY

RAPE                              

On 3rd October 2014 at 10:30am, a mother of Belize City visited the Raccoon Street Police Station along with her 16-year-old daughter and reported, that at about 10:00am, while her daughter was alone at home, a male person known to her entered the house and had sexual intercourse with her against her will. A medical examination certified that the female is carnally known and classified her injuries as Grievous Harm. Police are seeking this 30-year-old perpetrator as investigations continue.

SUDDEN DEATH

On 5th October 2014 at about 5:33pm, police visited the Belize Medical Associates Clinic where they saw the body of Jitendra LAKHAWANI, 21 year old Naturalized Belizean Businessman of Belize City, apparently lifeless. Initial investigations revealed that, at about 2:30pm on 5th October 2014, he went to the Pick wick Club along with a relative to swim and socialize. At about 3:25pm, while a male person was swimming in the pool he discovered the body lying at the bottom of the pool. The body was taken out and transported to the Belize Medical Associates Clinic where it was pronounced dead. No sign of violence was observed on the body which now awaits a postmortem examination at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Police investigations continue.
 
SHOOTING INCIDENT

On 3rd October 2014 at about 8:15pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Harrison SMITH, 32 year old of Belize City, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Also, Eustace LEWIS, 23 year old of Belize City, was seen with an apparent gunshot wound to the buttocks. Initial investigations revealed that SMITH was riding his bicycle on North Front Street when upon reaching at the intersection with Pickstock Street; he was fired upon by two men riding on separate bicycles. At 9:45pm, SMITH succumbed to his injuries while LEWIS remains in a stable condition at the KHMH. Seven .9mm shells were recovered from the area. Police have since arrested and charged jointly with Murder; 26-year-old Bart LUCAS, 26-year-old LEWIS and 18-year-old Oscar FLORES, all of Belize City. Police investigations continue.

FOUND PROPERTY

At 3:15pm on 3rd October 2014, Police conducted a search on an empty lot on Banak Street, Belize City, which led to the discovery of a red ski mask and (3) 9mm live rounds. No one was found in the area at the time of the search. The items were deposited as found property.
 
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

A Special Constable for the Belize City Council reported that, at 4:50am on 5th October 2014, he went to drop off his co-worker at her home in Belize City. He stated that upon reaching in front of his co-worker‘s residence, he saw two dark complexion male persons approached his vehicle. One of the men opened the front passenger side door and pointed a black handgun at him. The complainant stated that he immediately took out his license 9mm pistol and fired three shots in their directions. Both men then ran away. Police retrieved (3) expended shells and (1) 9mm pistol with (1) magazine containing 6 live rounds. Police investigations continue.
 
ROBBERY

At 12:30am on 5th October 2014, Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Ignacio VILLANUEVA, 41 year old Belizean Businessman of Belize City, suffering from two large cut wounds to the left side of the head. VILLANUEVA reported that at 11:45pm on 4th October 2014, he was walking on Wagner’s Lane when he was approached by Shane BUDRAM and seven other male persons who surrounded him. The complainant stated that BUDRAM hit him to the head with a firearm causing his injuries. The hit caused the complainant to fall to the ground. At that time BUDRAM took $30.00bcy, (1) cell phone and (1) cap from the complainant. One of the men also took his Nike tennis from off his feet. The complainant stated that he managed to get up and ran away. Police have since detained a 17 year old male and Shane BUDRAM, 37 year old Belizean Laborer of Belize City, and pending charges. 
 
BELMOPAN

MAIM

At 6:31pm on 4th October 2014, police visited the Western Regional Hospital where they saw Aldo MORO, 24 year old of the Cayo District, with his left hand amputated from the wrist and a large cut wound to the head. Initial investigations revealed that MORO went to buy at a store in Teakettle Village when upon exiting the store and heading towards his vehicle; he was approached by Shaylon SANTOS who chopped him on his left hand with a machete and also inflicted a large cut wound to the left side of his head. MORO stated that he managed to get in his car and drove to his brother’s house. His brother then transported him to the Western Regional Hospital. Police visited the area where the severed hand was seen. Police are looking for Shaylon SANTOS, pending investigations. 


Edel DIAZ, 21 year old Belizean Warehouse Assistant of Belmopan, reported that at 10:45pm on 4th October 2014, he was socializing with some friends at a bar located on Cemetery Road in the Salvapan Area of Belmopan City. At the bar, DIAZ was approached by Clifford ALVARADO who had a machete and inflicted a chop wound to his left index finger almost amputating it. DIAZ was transported to the Western Regional Hospital, but later discharged himself. Police have since arrested and charged Clifford ALVARADO, 24 year old of Belmopan, with Maim.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Roel MOGUEL, 31 year old Belizean Micro Finance Field Officer at La Imaculada Credit Union, Belmopan Branch and a residence of Belmopan, reported that between 6:30pm and 11:45pm on 3rd October 2014, a blue Meilum brand motorcycle, 200cc, L/P-MC-00691 was stolen from in front of his house.  The motorcycle is the property of the La Imaculada Credit Union.  Police investigations continue.

ROBBERY

A Belizean student of Belmopan reported that, on 2nd October 2014, he was walking on Garza Street in Belmopan City whem he saw a dark complexion male person standing at the corner of the street. He stated that he continued walking and the male person began walking behind him and upon reaching at the corner of Libertad and Corozal Street, the male person pointed a handgun at him and robbed him of (1) black cap and (1) HTC cell phone. Police later recovered the items and have arrested and charged Jacob TILLETT, 18 year old of the Cayo District, with the crime of Robbery. 


STANN CREEK

STABBING/SUICIDE

On 4th October 2014 at 11:33am, police responded to a stabbing incident in Seine Bight village in the vicinity of the main street where the victim Nicole SWAZO, 34 year old of Dangriga Town, was rushed to the Placencia Poly Clinic suffering from multiple stab wounds to her neck and upper body. At 11:35am, police went to the scene to apprehend the accused, Byron CASTILLO, 33 year old of Seine Bight village. Police later checked at CASTILLO‘s residence where they saw him hanging by the neck. He was taken down and rushed to the Placencia Poly Clinic. However, CASTILLO was pronounced dead on arrival at 12:19pm. The body was later transported to the Southern Regional Hospital morgue where it awaits a postmortem examination. SWAZO is in a stable condition at the Southern Regional hospital in Dangriga Town. Police investigation continues.
