COROZAL DISTRICT

RAPE

On 18th September 2014 at about 3:00am, a 23-year-old Belizean female of Corozal Town reported that on 17th September 2014 at about 7:30pm, she arrived at a bar in Concepcion Village to have drinks. When she arrived, she met a male friend from the village, who was accompanied by a male person. While walking home from the bar, she was followed by this person who grabbed her and took her on a feeder road where had sex with her against her will. He took away her purse which contained personal documents and $62.00 in cash and then escaped. As a result, police have detained a 32-year-old man pending charges.

ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

On 18th September 2014, police visited the San Lorenzo road where the body of a male person was found on the shoulder of the road in the bushes along a Cane Field. The dark complexion male person was dressed in a grey and black Polo shirt with the logo Air Jet, a khaki pants and a white Nike Tennis. He had a white beard and curly grey-brown hair. There was no form of identification card or distinguishing marks on him. He was seen with injuries to the head and body. The body of the male person was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital Morgue and was pronounced dead on arrival. Identity of the male person is yet to be obtained. Police are investigating.

FOUND PROPERTY

On 18th September 2014 at about 5:30am, Police conducted a search in an open lot on Pike Crescent Buttonwood Bay Area, Belize City, which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 460 grams of suspected cannabis. No one was detained and as a result the item was labeled and deposited as Found Property.

POSTMORTEM EXAMINATION

At 1:00pm on 18th September 2014, a postmortem examination was conducted on the body of Marvin SEDASSEY, 29 year old Belizean Police Officer of Toledo District, where the cause of death was certified as carcinogenic shock, cardiac tamponade syndrome rapture of the cuending artery due to the Road Traffic Accident.

BELMOPAN CITY

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

On 19th September 2014, 21-year-old female of Belmopan City reported that, at about 11:45pm, she was having a party for her brother when she saw and heard a group of young male persons passing and shouting. She reported that at about ten minutes later, two of the male persons returned and pointed an object that resembled a firearm in their direction. Fearing for her life, she ran inside her house. Police have since detained a 17-year-old Belizean Student pending charge.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

On 15 September 2014, a 30-year-old man of Teakettle Village visited the Roaring Creek Police Station and reported that, at about 12:12pm, while at his mother’s house in the same village when he saw a vehicle arrived in front of his mother’s house and a male person exited whom he recognized. The man started to take some pictures of a red Pickup Truck which was parked in his mother’s yard and upon investigating the man pulled out a shiny gun and pointed it in his face. Police are investigating.

FOUND PROPERTY

On 17th September 2014 at around 7:00am, police conducted a search in an abandon lot in Roaring Creek which led to the discovery of an Ovaltine pan, in a black plastic bag, which contained 78 grams of suspected cannabis. No one was in the area at the time and as a result the item was labeled and deposited as Found Property.

FOUND PROPERTY

On 15th September 2014 at about 5:30pm, police conducted a search inside a green and white West Line bus which was travelling from Belmopan to Belize City. As a result, Police found a Jan sport kitbag which contained (1) black plastic bag containing 1,369 grams of suspected Cannabis. No one was arrested and the item was labeled and deposited as Found Property.

On 16th September 2014 at about 11:45am, police conducted a search inside a white and green West Line bus which was travelling from Belmopan to Belize City and found a grey suit case which contained (1) black plastic bag containing 2,494 grams of suspected Cannabis. No one was detained and as a result, the item was labeled and deposited as Found Property

On 18th September 2014 at about 11:45am, police conducted a search in a BBOC bus along the Western Highway which resulted in the discovery of (2) large kitbags containing 18,131 grams of suspected cannabis. No one was detained and as a result, the item was labeled and deposited and Found Property.
