DRUG TRAFFICKING
On 17th September 2014 at 8:30pm, police were conducting check point between Miles 56 and 57 on the Phillip Goldson Highway, Orange Walk District, along with Customs officer from Orange Walk, when they stopped a Toyota pickup with license plates CZL- C- 02682. The pickup was being driven by Axel FUENTES, 36 year old Guatemalan/Belizean of Corozal District. A search of the pan of the vehicle led to discovery of a white ice cooler containing 18 packages of suspected cocaine totaling 18.89 Kilograms. Axel FUENTES has since been detained pending charge of Drug Trafficking.
BELIZE DISTRICT
SHOOTING INCIDENT/MURDER
On 17th September 2014 about 9:15pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Nigel FERGUSON, 28yrs, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the left cheek; Mark ALAMILLA, 30yrs, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the left upper leg; William SAVERY, 28yrs, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the right side of the buttocks; and John AVILEZ, 26yrs, suffering from two apparent gunshot wounds to the right side of the chest and one to the right arm. Initial investigation revealed that all four persons were under a vegetable stall near Angel Lane, socializing, when a vehicle went on to Angel Lane and stopped in front of the vegetable stall. A male person exited the vehicle and fired several shots in the direction of the four persons causing their injuries. John AVILEZ died while undergoing treatment at the K.H.M.H. and was pronounced dead at 10:25pm. Nigel FERGUSON and Mark ALAMILLA remains at the K.H.M.H. in a stable condition while William SAVERY is in a critical condition. Police investigations continue.
Acting upon information received from Police Control Room of shots fired on Central America Boulevard, on 17th September 2014 at about 8:15pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Joseph ROLAND, 26 year old of Belize City, suffering from an apparent gunshot injury to the head. Initial investigation revealed that at about 8:00pm, Joseph ROLAND was standing at the corner of Central American Boulevard and Antelope Street Extension purchasing food when a man approached him and fired a single shot, causing his injury. Police investigations continue.
On 17th September 2014 at about 7:20pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw 25-year-old Clifford Simeon FLORES suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen and two to the lower back. Initial investigations revealed that he was sitting along with two friends on a vehicle, parked on Caesar Ridge Road, when a SUV approached them. A person from the SUV fired several shots at them. FLORES succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment and was pronounced dead at 9:40pm. Five .9mm shells were retrieved from the scene as police investigations continue.

SEXUAL ASSAULT
A 14-year-old student of the Cayo District, accompanied by her mother, visited the Belmopan Police Station and reported that between the 13th and 23rd August 2014, her step-father touched her on her private part and on 17th September 2014, he had sexual intercourse with her. A medical examination was conducted on the minor where it was certified that she is Carnally Known. Police are looking for the step-father pending investigations.
DRUG TRAFFICKING
On 17th September 2014 at 11:25am, police intercepted a James Bus Line at Big Falls Village in front of King Service Station, several persons were sitting down inside the bus including Ana BOL, 26 year old of San Pedro Columbia Village, who was informed that a search would be conducted on her person and luggage for drugs and illegal firearm .The search led to the discovery of a black plastic bag 956 grams of suspected cannabis. BOL have since been arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking.
