BELIZE DISTRICT

FOUND PROPERTY

Between the hours of 8:00am and 9:00am on 28th June 2014, police conducted a search in an abandoned lot situated in Belama Phase 1, Belize City, which led to the discovery of a black and brown travelling bag containing 11 black plastic bags of cannabis (amounting to 1,168 grams). The drug was taken to the Police station where it was labeled as Found Property.   
 
On 28th June 2014 at about 11:45am, police on mobile patrol, on Antelope Street Extension, conducted a search in an overgrown area by a drain that led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing green leafy vegetable substance, suspected to be cannabis. No one was in the immediate area, so the suspected cannabis was taken to Precinct #2 Police Station where it was weighed and amounted to 145 grams. The drug was then sealed, signed and labeled as found property.
 
MURDER                          

Acting on information received, on 28th June 2014 at about 5:55am, police visited a parking lot just off Cemetery Road, Belize City, opposite the Raymond Parks Homeless Shelter, where they saw the body of a male person of dark complexion dressed only in a pair of blue checkered boxer with what appeared to be a deep and huge cut wound to the head and an apparent stab wound to the right side of the face. The body was later identified as that of Samuel Steven MIGUEL, 22 year old Belizean Laborer of Belize City. The body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where it was pronounced dead on arrival, at 6:52am, and now lies at the morgue awaiting a postmortem examination. Police investigations continue.
 
MURDER

On 28th June 2014 at about 5:38pm, acting on information received of shots fired on Flamboyant Street, Belize City, Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw a tall, slim, brown complexion male person being attended to by medical personnel. The male person was seen with two (2) apparent gunshot wounds to the left lower back and one (1) apparent gunshot wound to the right thigh. He was identified as Malcolm WAGNER, 24 year old Belizean Construction Worker of Belize City. Initial investigations revealed that Malcolm WAGNER was standing alone at the corner of Flamboyant and Poinsettia Streets, Belize City, when a car drove passed and an occupant fired several shots in his direction causing his injuries. Later at 6:15pm, Malcolm WAGNER succumbed to the injuries. Police have retrieved (5) .32 auto brand expending shells from the area. The body now awaits a postmortem examination at the K.H.M.H. Police investigation continues.
 
ATTEMPT MURDER

On 30th June 2014 at about 3:30am, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Albert CASTRO, 31 year old Taxi Driver of Belize City, suffering from (2) apparent gunshot wounds to the head. Initial investigations revealed that, on the same date, CASTRO was driving his green Mazda Taxi on Faber’s Road along with a 26 year old female passenger of Faber’s Road when upon reaching at the corner of Faber’s Road and Watermelon Street, they were approached by a male person of dark complexion who rode up to them and fired several shots of which injured Albert CASTRO. CASTRO was taken to the K.H.M.H in a critical condition. Police investigations continue.
 

On 28th June 2014 at about 7:54pm, acting on information received of shots fired on Curl Thompson Street, Belize City, Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Belize Defence Force Soldier, Carlton AUGUSTINE, 23 year old of Belize City, suffering from (1) apparent gunshot wound to the right side and (1) apparent gunshot wound to the left upper arm. Initial investigations revealed that Carlton AUGUSTINE was socializing in a yard, on Curl Thompson Street, with four other male persons when someone dressed in a grey T-shirt entered the yard and fired several shots towards his direction causing the injuries. The male person then ran out of the yard making good his escape. Police retrieved (7) G.F.L 9mm expended shells from the area. Police investigations continue.
 
ARREST: ROBBERY

Reference the report made three persons robbed on 26th June 2014 on the George Price Highway;  on 27th June 2014, a 17-year-old Belizean Construction Worker of Fair-weather Street, Belize city, was arrested and charged for the crime of (3) counts of robbery, (1) count of prohibited firearm and (1) count of kept ammunition without a gun license.
 
ARREST

Reference the report made by Walter BEATON, on 27th June 2014 police arrested and charged Steve Martin MOSS, 20 year old of Belize City, for the crime of Use of Deadly Means of Harm and Wounding.
