COROZAL DISTRICT

ATTEMPT ROBBERY

A 47 year old Belizean Money Exchanger of San Joaquin Village reported that, on 25th June 2014 at about 5:20am, he was in his blue Dodge Caravan heading out of Santa Rita Layout, Corozal Town when upon reaching a junction he saw a Hispanic male person standing about 8 feet away from the left side of his vehicle. The male person had his face covered with a red rag and was pointing a shotgun in his direction. He accelerated his vehicle and heard a loud bang, but continued. He then felt something warm running down his face and noticed that he was bleeding from his left ear. He then came to a stop at Santa Rita Road and made checks where he noticed that the left side glass from his vehicle was shattered. Also, he saw that his windshield was damaged. He then made his way to the Corozal Community Hospital where his injuries were classified as wounding. Police investigation continues.

ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

MISSING PERSON

Bianca Miriany GUERRA, 14 year old Belizean Student of Altun Ha Street, Orange Walk Town, has been reported missing on the 23rd June 2014 at 9:00pm by her sister. She is of Hispanic descent, clear complexion, about 5 feet 5 inches in height, weighs about 100 pounds, and has straight black hair and a narrow face. Bianca was last seen wearing a black sweater with a hood and blue jeans pants. Police investigations continue.

BELIZE DISTRICT

BURGLARY

A 35 year old Belizean Businesswoman of Queen Charlotte Street, Belize City, reported that between the hours of 11:40pm on 20th June 2014 and 8:40am on 21st June 2014, her house was burglarized. Stolen from inside her home were (1) black licensed 9mm Luger pistol with a magazine containing 12 - 9mm live rounds of ammunition, (2) laptops, (1) gold chain, (1) gold bracelet, (1) thin gold chain, (2) gold rings, (3) watches and an  assortment of Brazilian gold plated jewelries. Police investigations continue.
 
SUDDEN DEATH

On 23rd June 2014 at 7:00am, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw the body of 33 year old Ernest Lincoln CANIQUIE, of Belize City. Initial investigation revealed that, sometime between the hours of 10:00pm on 22nd June 2014 and 6:00am on 23rd June 2014, CANIQUIE climbed the lamp post at the corner of Rivero Street and Rivero Street Extension and he got electrocuted. The body now awaits a postmortem examination.
 
DRUG TRAFFICKING

On 23rd June 2014 at 7:00am, while in the St. Martins area, police conducted a search on 32 year old Cullum SUTHERLAND, of Belize City, which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 103 grams of Cannabis. The cannabis was found wedged inside the front portion of his pants waist. SUTHERLAND was arrested and charged for the offence of Drug Trafficking.

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

KEPT AMMUNITION WITHOUT A GUN LICENSE

On 23rd June 2014, Police visited #14 Carmen Street in Santa Elena Town, where they saw 27 year old Rodel GUERRA, of Carmen Street, Santa Elena Town, in a yard with what appeared to be a shot gun in his hand. GUERRA dropped the object and ran away upon seeing the police. Upon making checks on the object, police discovered it to be a 16 gauge single action shotgun which was found along with (14) 16 gauge cartridges. GUERRA was arrested and charged for the offence of Kept Firearm and Ammunition without a Gun License.

STABBING INCIDENT

On 24th June 2014, police visited the Punta Gorda Hospital where Eden MEJIA, 24 year old of Punta Gorda Town, was seen suffering from (1) large cut wound to the right & left shoulder, (1) large cut wound to the left wrist, (3) left finger almost severed, (1) cut wound to right side of forehead, (1) cut wound to the left side of the mouth, (1) cut wound on the right side of the chest and a large cut wound to the forehead. He is in a serious, but stable condition. Also at the Punta Gorda Hospital was 26 year old Jordy FLORES, of Punta Gorda, who was seen suffering from cut wounds to the right arm, the right wrist, bottom lip, left arm, left ear and left side of head. Initial investigations revealed that Jordy FLORES and Eden MEJIA were involved in an altercation where Eden MEJIA took out a knife and inflicted the stab wounds to Jordy FLORES. Jordy FLORES then left the area and returned with his 20 year old brother, Terrell FLORES, where they met Eden MEJIA and inflicted chop wounds to him. MEJIA was later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical, but stable condition. Police investigations continue.
