ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

KEPT UNLICENSED FIREARM AND AMMUNITION

On 13th June 2014 at 10:30am, Orange walk police conducted a house search at the resident of Julio Rene AMADOR, 54 year old Belizean of Trinidad Village, Orange walk District. Present at the time of the search was Nayef Khodr AGHA, 31 year old Lebanese National of Belize City, and Joel Armando MOH, 31 year old of Belize City. The search resulted in the discovery of (1) .22 firearm with its magazine containing (4) .22 rounds of ammunition, (2) boxes of ammunition containing a total of 59 rounds of .22 ammunition. Also found was a vehicle oil filter adapted to be used as a sound suppresser for the firearm.  Police have formally arrested and charged AMADOR, AGHA and MOH for the offence of kept unlicensed firearm and ammunition and kept prohibited material.

BELIZE CITY

ATTEMPTED MURDER

On 14th June 2014 at 9:30pm, Belize City Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Efrain ASSI, 22 year old of Belize City, suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds. Initial investigations revealed that, on 14th June 2014 at 9:20pm, ASSI and four other male persons were sitting on the bleachers at the basketball court on Alicia Street, Belize City, when a short dark complexion male person stood behind the bleacher and fired six (6) shots in their direction causing ASSI’s injuries. Police are investigating.
 
On 15th June 2014 at 10:10pm, Belize City Police visited Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Clinton POU, 17 year old of Belize City, suffering from (1) apparent gunshot to the left cheek and (1) apparent exit wound to the left side of neck. Initial investigation revealed that Clinton POU was walking on Poinsetta Street, Belize City, when upon reaching about 100 feet away from the corner of Poinsetta Street and Tibruce Street, (3) male persons passed on separate bicycles followed by (1) male person of dark skin complexion, who approached Clinton POU from behind. The male person pointed a hand gun at him and fired one single shot causing the above mentioned injuries. Police are investigating.

ROBBERY

On 15th June 2014 at 10:00am, a 48 year old teacher of Neal’s Penn Road, Belize City, reported that on 14th June 2014 at 10:49pm, upon arrival at his address and upon exiting his car, he was suddenly approached and held up by two dark complexion male persons. One of them pointed a gun at him and demanded him to hand over his bag and money. The assailant pulled off the complainant’s gold chain from his neck and robbed him of his cellular phone, two bags of food, $205.00UScy, $555.00Bcy, Social Security card, driver’s license, Sagicore insurance card and other personal documents. Police are investigating.

BURGLARY

On 15th June 2014 at 5:00pm, Yongfei XU reported that between the hours of 1:00pm and 3:30pm, someone broke in his shop - Li Li shop located on #6482 Jasmine Street - and stole (2) black laptop that was used to sell Boledo, (1) white, Apple I pad, (1) white, Nokia cell phone, (10) carton cigarettes, (1) black Dell laptop, assorted liquor and $200.00Bcy. Police are investigating.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

A 17 year old young man of Antelope Street, Belize City, reported that on 14th June 2014 at 7:00pm, he was walking along with a friend on Antelope Street, Belize City, when he heard his friend told him to watch out for something. That was when he turned around and saw a young man standing over a bicycle pointing a firearm in their direction. The young man reportedly fired about (4) four shots in their direction. Fearing for his life, he ran up Antelope Street in the direction of Central American Boulevard. He then checked himself and realized that he was uninjured. Police are investigating.

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On 13th June 2014 at 9:15pm, acting on information received, Belize City Police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where Walter BEATON, 40 year old Belizean Construction Worker of Belize City, was seen with two apparent gunshot wounds on the left hand. Initial information revealed that on the said date at 9:12pm, BEATON was riding on Kraal Road, Belize City, when upon reaching the corner of Ross Penn Road he was approached from behind by a dark complexion male person riding on a bicycle. The male person pointed a black firearm in his direction and fired several at him causing the said injuries. BEATON jumped off his bicycle and ran inside the Cumberbatch Field to escape. The male person then rode away from the area and on to Guerro Street. Police are investigating.

AGGRAVATED BURGLARY

A 27 year old woman of Belize City visited Precinct #1 and reported that, at about 10:20am on 13th June 2014; a brown complexion male person with a long scar under his neck entered her house and pointed a hand gun in her face. The person asked for her husband, Roberto GILHARRY, 38 year old Belizean Boat Captain, and she reportedly told him that he was not there. The male person then ran out of the house got on a bicycle and made good his escape. Police are investigating

BURGLARY    
         
The Branch Supervisor at Fiesta Chicken - located at No. 43 Corner Vernon St and Sarstoon Street, Belize - reported that sometime between 5:10pm on 12th June 2014 and 6:18am on 13th June 2014, the business establishment was burglarized. An iron safe containing monies was stolen from inside the business establishment. Police investigations continue.

THEFT
                        
Jermain ROWLAND, Belizean Fisherman, reported that sometime between 5:00pm on 12th June 2014 and 8:00am on 13th June 2014 he anchored his red, yellow and green, 25' fiberglass skiff with its 200 horse power Yamaha engine, serial number 708051, namely Belizean Breeze, at the end of the canal close to the river, Conch Shell Bay Area, Belize City. He stated that upon making checks for his skiff on Friday, June 13th, 2014, sometime around 8:00am, it was missing. Police investigations continue.

SAN PEDRO TOWN

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Glenda SANCHEZ, Belizean Businesswoman of San Juan Area, San Pedro Town, visited the San Pedro Police Station and reported that on 15th June 2014 at 10:00pm, she parked her Red & Black Club Cart with license plate SPC# 1483 on Caribena Street and went into an establishment to use their restroom. Upon returning to where she parked her club cart; the cart was not there. Police are investigating.

BELMOPAN CITY

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
                     
On 13th June 2014 at 6:00am, Belmopan Police responded to a shooting Incident at Caves Branch Outpost where one of the Rangers Oscar CORDON, 30yrs, reported that sometime in the evening of the said date, he along with Assistant Park Manager Telesfelo TZIB, and his girlfriend, left the park to collect their salary in Belmopan City. On their way back, they stopped in Franks Eddy Village where they had a few drinks. Whilst socializing, TZIB became jealous and started accusing CORDON of having an affair with his girlfriend and then left. Upon arriving at the Outpost, about an hour later, and driving into the compound, he noticed TZIB standing with a shotgun pointing it at him. TZIB then fired a single shot, but luckily due to the distance, he was not hit. TZIB attempted to fire another shot, but was stopped by another Park Ranger who took away the shot gun away from him. TZIB then made good his escape. Police are investigating.

SAN IGNACIO TOWN

HOUSE FIRE

On 15th June 2014 at 8:20am, San Ignacio Police visited Cemetery Road, Santa Elena Town, where they saw a wooden/cement bungalow house engulfed in flames. Olga AUGUST, 56 year old of that address, reported that on 15th June 2014 at 6:00am she and her family departed to Ladyville Village, Belize District, leaving her house properly secured. While in Ladyville Village, she received information that her house was on fire. The house was completely destroyed by fire. Police and Fire Department personnel are investigating.

DANGRIGA TOWN

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

On 14th June 2014, Dangriga Police visited the Southern Regional Hospital where they saw Landisha BALTAZAR, 19 year old of Wagierale area, suffering from multiple chop wounds to the left and right hands, head, the left side of the back and her left thumb was severed. She also complained of not having feeling in her left hand. BALTAZAR stated that, on 14th June 2014 about 3:30am, she was at home sleeping when she heard a knocking on her door that was when she opened the door she saw it was her neighbor, Morgan FRANCISCO, who started to chop her for no apparent reason. Police have since detained Morgan FRANCISCO, 20 year old Plumber of Belize City, pending charges.

TOLEDO DISTRICT

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Armando MUSCHAMP, 43 year old Taxi Driver of Water Supply Area, reported that on 8th June 2014 he was in front of Charleston Inn - located on Main Street – when a Chinese man, owner of “Ok Grocery Store” located opposite Charleston Inn, approached him. The Chinese man, to who MUSCHAMP owes money, demanded him to pay the money. MUSCHAMP explained that he did not have the money and the man allegedly took out a black 9mm pistol and pointed it at him, making him in fear of his life. Police have since arrested and charged 37 year old Wei Xin ZHAO, Belizean Businessman of Punta Gorda Town, for the crime of Aggravated Assault.
