BELIZE CITY

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On the 9th June 2014 at about 12:30am, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw 5 persons suffering from apparent gunshot injuries. Windell NEAL, 19yrs, was shot to the abdomen and left leg; Triston GORDON, 22yrs, had multiple pellet wounds to the back; Daniel CAIN, 26yrs, had multiple pellet wounds to the right leg, Adelyn VERNON, 21yrs, had multiple pellet wounds to the left inner thigh and an unknown male person was observed with multiple pellets to the head and back. The unknown male person remains in a critical condition at the KHMH. Initial investigations revealed that, at about 11:43pm, a graduation party was being held at the Brown Sugar Mall on North Front Street in Belize City, when two male persons fired several shots into the crowd causing the injuries. Police have retrieved (9) 9mm shells from the area as investigations continue.

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On 8th June 2014 at about 3:20am, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw a 16 year old female student of Belize City suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the right ear and chest. Initial investigations revealed that while she was along with two male companions in a car, a lone gunman approached the car at the corner of Calle del Mar and Newtown Barracks and fired several shots at them causing the injuries. The 16 year old female was rushed to the KHMH where she remains in a critical, but stable condition. Police investigations continue.

SHOOTING INCIDENT
 
On 7th June 2014 at about 9:50pm, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw Sigmond TRAPP, 28 year old of Belize City, suffering from (1) apparent gunshot wound to the right hand and (1) apparent gunshot wound to the right leg; and Anthony SCOTT, 25 year old of Belize City, suffering from (1) apparent gunshot wound to the right hand and (1) apparent gunshot wound to the upper back. Initial Investigations revealed that, at about 9:45pm, TRAPP and SCOTT were walking on Kut Avenue when upon reaching the corner of Amara and Kut Avenue, a Black Ford Escort with dark tinted windows drove by and upon reaching the corner of Kut and Amara Avenue, a person from inside the vehicle fired several shots at them causing their injuries. Anthony SCOTT and Sigmond TRAPP were transported to the KHMH where they are listed in stable condition. Police investigations continue.
 
ROBBERY

On 8th June 2014, the Supervisor for Image Store (located at # 14 Albert Street, Belize City), reported that at about 1:10pm, he was inside his work place along with two co-workers doing stock-taking when two male persons entered the store. One was armed with a silver colored handgun. They reportedly took away the supervisor’s white Galaxy grand cell phone and his thin link gold. They also took his companion’s gold colored GO brand cell phone and $500.00Bcy from off the counter. Both male persons then left the store where they got on separate bicycles and rode off on Prince Street, making good their escape. Police are investigating.
 
CAYO DISTRICT

STABBING INCIDENT

On 7th June 2014 at about 5:00am, based on information received of a male person stabbed in Billy White Village, Cayo District, police visited the residence of Gumercindo POP who was seen with multiple apparent stab wounds to his chest, shoulders, head, back and neck area. POP reported that while socializing at a bar in the village he was involved in a fight with two brothers who inflicted the wounds to his body. POP was taken to the San Ignacio Town Hospital where he was later transported to the Western Regional Hospital for further treatment. Both brothers of Billy White Village were detained. Police investigations continue.
