ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

FOUND PROPERTY

On 7th May 2014 at about 6:00pm, Orange Walk Quick Response Team conducted searches in an overgrown area of an empty lot located at Royal Palm Street Louisiana Area, Orange Walk Town, where they found one black and orange flare gun with the barrel adapted with Aluminium pipe and a .38 bullet stuck in it making the gun into Adapted .38. Also found was a black .22 pellet gun that was wrapped with a black plastic bag and another plastic bag that contained 3lbs of Marijuana. All items found were taken to the Orange Walk Police Station where they were deposited as Exhibit.

MURDER

On 7th May 2014 at 6:18pm, police visited a bus stop located in front of Puma Gas Station, Ladyville village, where they saw Vince MARTINEZ Jr., 27 year old of Belize City, dressed only in blue jeans long pants lying motionless in a pool of blood with a single gunshot wound to the right side of the head. Initial investigations revealed that MARTINEZ was sitting under the bus stop when a male person of dark complexion dressed in a white shirt and black long pants came running from the direction of Marage Road. The male person fired a single shot at MARTINEZ causing the fatal injury. The perpetrator then reportedly ran back in the same direction where a car was waiting for him. He made good his escape. The body of MARTINEZ was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where it was pronounced dead at 8:15pm and then to the Morgue where it awaits a postmortem examination. Police Investigations into the matter continues.
 
POSTMORTEM EXAMINATION

Reference the death of 23 year old Julian WILLOUGHBY, of Belize City, on 6th May 2014 at 1:00pm, Doctor Mario ESTRADA BRAN performed a postmortem examination on the body and certified the cause of death to be Cardio Sonic Shock due to Acute Tapenade Syndrome and due to Heart Injury caused by Gunshot Wound.
