ORANGE WALK DISTRICT

DRUG TRAFFICKING

At 5:50pm on the 8th of December 2014, police were on operation on the Phillip Goldson Highway in San Jose Village when they intercepted a Joshua’s Bus, which was travelling from Corozal to Orange Walk District. Police then conducted a search in a knapsack belonging to Tyron Alexander WILLIAMS, 35 year old Belizean Watchman of Lord’s Bank Village, who was a passenger on the bus. The search led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing one parcel which was wrapped in transparent plastic and found to contain a total of 680.4 grams of suspected cannabis. WILLIAMS has since been detained, pending charges. 

LADYVILLE VILLAGE

SUDDEN DEATH

At 6:20am on the 5th of December 2014, responding to information received on the death of a 3-month-old infant, police visited a Children’s Home located in Ladyville. Initial investigations revealed that at 5:20am on the 5th of December 2014, the 16-year-old mother was seen with her 3-month-old baby in her arms, apparently dead. The baby was transported to the B.D.F. Hospital and later to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. where she was pronounced dead. A postmortem examination was conducted on the infant where the cause of death was certified as Asphyxiation by Suffocation. Police investigations continue. 

BELIZE DISTRICT

THEFT

A 30-year-old woman of Belize City visited Precinct Three Police Station where she reported that, on the 8th of December 2014 at about 12:35pm, she was walking on Freetown Road, Belize City, when a dark complexion male person on a bicycle rode up to her and grabbed her purse containing a Belizean Passport, Social Security Card, Driver’s License, and (1) black IPhone 45 cellular phone. The thief then made good his escape. Police investigations continue.

FOUND PROPERTY

At 8:30pm on the 8th of December 2014, police conducted a search in a bushy lot in the Shaw Ville Area, San Ignacio Town, which led to the discovery of four sacks containing a total of 84,000 grams of suspected cannabis. No one was in the area at the time and the drugs were deposited as found property.

BIGAMY

On the 8th of December 2014, Merkitia Castillo CHIMILIO, 27 year old of Belmopan City, visited the Belmopan Police Station on the 8th of December 2014 and reported that she has been married to her husband, John CHIMILIO since 15th of August 2014. She continued by saying that, on the 5th of December 2014, she was looking for her marriage certificate when she came across another marriage certificate in the name of her husband and another woman dated the 20th of March 2010. Checks were made at vital statistics which confirmed that John CHIMILIO is married twice. John CHIMILIO, 36-year-old Construction Worker of Roaring Creek Village, was arrested and charged for the crime of Bigamy.
